Poem of the Day: Judy Kravis, stranger in the greenhouse

stranger in the greenhouse

The shape of two chairs and a sheet
Drying between them

Now here’s an idea, he said
Politicoes like me work so that poeticoes like you
can live as you do
Two fields deep and dusted with pollen

Or maybe the poetico, widespread & unharrassed
Renders the politico unnecessary
I thought, next day
folding the sheet
The stranger, he
Packed, dry and gone

This poem and Judy’s Upstart poem (“I know my life”, text #57) come from How to write round things a boreen book from road books.

Judy Kravis looks after a large garden and likes to read and write outdoors.
