Hi and welcome to my Upstart blog. My name’s Anne and I’m currently interning with Fighting Words, Roddy Doyle’s creative writing centre, ha ha ha. I promise I don’t own a bowler hat but I have found myself in the enviable position of talking about the role of arts in a public forum, not in a public house. Over the next few days I’m hoping to get some discussion going about the role the arts plays in Irish society, especially in education and to get some feedback about the Upstart poster campaign.
