I hope you’ve been enjoying — and have been provoked and challenged by — the Upstart Writing of the Day feature, which has been running for two months now. We’re still taking submissions, but the digest will now appear a little more irregularly. Keep us bookmarked and check our RSS feed though: we hope there will be new writing here at least once a week. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has submitted so far (I’ve really enjoyed choosing from such a wealth of talent!) and invite further submissions.
*Work can be prose, poetry, drama, fiction,or non-fiction, but it should be less than 1000 words in length
*Previously published work is fine, but if you are submitted published work please indicate this clearly, and give us the name and contact details of your publisher so we can seek permission to republish.
*An appearance on a blog constitutes publication, so bear that in mind when sending unpublished work you may later want to submit to competitions or publications which specify that they only take unpublished work.
*include a short bio note.
*Please send your work as an attachment, or in the case of short pieces with uncomplicated formatting, in the email body to words@upstart.ie
